Generations of Honor: Military Service & Family Sacrifice

Patriotism is in the DNA of the Hardas, Marabella, and Quackenbush families. H.J. Nick’s father served two tours in World War II; his brother fought in Vietnam. His wife Michelle’s family-the Quackenbushes-are among America’s earliest settlers, with over 300 years of history. One of the most powerful stories in that lineage is that of Lt. Jack Quackenbush, a Harvard-educated officer aboard the USS Hornet during WWII. He served in the legendary Doolittle Raid, the first U.S. strike on Japanese soil following Pearl Harbor. Later that year, during the Battle of the Santa Cruz Islands, the Hornet was hit by a Japanese dive-bomber. Lt. Quackenbush made the ultimate sacrifice at just 26 years old, giving his life on the ship’s bridge. His legacy lives on in both military history-and in Michelle Hardas’ leadership at ArtFactory.com as CFO and Chief of Quality Control.
Her commitment to excellence continues her grandfather’s legacy, transforming it into the realm of design and fine art.

Lorenzo Ghiglieri (1931-2020) was a world-renowned American sculptor, known for his powerful bronze depictions of wildlife, warriors, and American symbolism. His sculptures are displayed in places of honor around the world-from the White House to the Vatican to the Kremlin.
His 24K solid gold eagle, resting on the Mark Russo-designed Constitution base, is not only one of President Donald J. Trump’s most prized art investments, but also a personal favorite in his private collection.

 

 

 

Lorenzo’s son, Laran Ghiglieri, carries the torch forward as a fourth-generation master artist. With works like Reflections of America, Spirit of America, and The Presidential American Patriot, Laran’s sculptures honor military heroes, American unity, and the warrior’s code of never leaving a man behind. His work is permanently installed in the U.S. House of Representatives and at the Oregon National Guard.

 

 

 

All Ghiglieri sculptures are cast at the Foundry Michelangelo in Battle Ground, Washington-widely considered the finest lost wax foundry in the world.
